Recent Photos

Here is a picture where one night Chad and I were hanging out with Graham in his room before bedtime. Graham felt free to bring one of his toys and climb up on top of me to play with it!

This is pic was taken one night when I made pizza for dinner. Graham really liked it and got it all over himself! He got put straight in the bath after dinner.

And here he is after the bath, all clean!

Here are some pictures of Graham looking at books, which he spends a lot of time doing theses days.

I love Graham's outfit here. This was taken on our way out the door to go to church. Don't you love his Toms?

How do you like Graham's house slippers? Cute huh? He doesn't really love wearing them!

Back by Popular Demand

More pictures from playing outside! (Where we spend a lot of our playtime these days!) Here are a few little news items on Graham for you grandparents out there:

Earlier this week, Graham pretended to be a dog (SO cute). He crawled through the house with a huge smile on his face, signing "dog" over and over. You would not believe what a dog lover he is.

Graham is big into books right now. ALL DAY LONG he is brining me books to read to him. His all time favorite is still Hop on Pop.

He is trying to say the words shoe, cheese, and juice. He is really trying! He says ba for ball consistently. He has learned the sign for please and we are working on thank you.

An Ode To My Hometown

This weekend is my 10 year high school reunion! Can you believe it? There is only one place that I would call my "hometown," and that Sweetwater, Texas. I lived there from the ages of 1 to 6, and from 10 to 18. As much as I may have complained about it at the time, Sweetwater was a great place to grow up. Small enough to rollerblade to my friends' houses, leave my car unlocked in the driveway, and see many many loving faces at church who had known me since childhood.

Here is my list of the top ten things I like about Sweetwater:

10. Doris' Doughnuts - you know you love it!
9. J.P. Cowen Elementary - where I worked my first year of teaching
8. The pool in my parents' backyard. Even though they don't live there anymore, I spent a lot of time at that pool! And the one in V's backyard!
7. The sno cone stand on Hayley Street.
6. Vicki's Gifts - yes, I know it's technically in Roscoe.
5. Tita's Mexican food - it is also in Roscoe now but didn't used to be. There are a lot of restaurants in Sweetwater I like (Gill's, Buck's, Skeet's) but this was my favorite.
4. Playing basketball for the Lady Stangs.
3. Mustang bowl football games - nothing like it.
2. Fourth and Elm Church of Christ
1. All my old friends!

FINALLY

Today Chad went to Best Buy for me, consulted with the geek squad, and now we are able to upload pictures and videos! I hope you enjoy, I know you will.

In other news, Graham got his first fever this week beginning on Wednesday night. Luckily it was just a 24 hr fever bug, he never had any other symptoms. It was so so sad! I hate to admit this, but as much as I hated for him to be sick, I did enjoy how snugly he was.

Here's a sweet Graham story: Graham loves music and one of his favorite songs is This Little Light of Mine. His favorite part is the "hide it under a bushel...NO!" part. He smiles and laughs and tries to imitate the motions himself. How precious.

Enjoy! I will upload videos soon...I am tired of uploading for now. :)

Weekend Away

This weekend Chad and I went on a mini-vacation to San Antonio and left our Grahamikins with my parents. It was all around a great weekend!

Friday night Chad and I went with my Dad, Grandpa (in town from Searcy for the weekend), and Jon's girlfriend Tess to Frisco to watch my brother's awesome high school football team. High school football is so fun! We stayed Friday night with my parents in Kaufman.

Saturday morning we had a delicious breakfast (blueberry pancakes - G's fave!) before we hit I35 south. Chad's stepdad, Tom, was in San Antonio for a medical conference so we were staying at his hotel this weekend. There was a lot of traffic on the way! It took much longer than usual. I don't really think we'll go to SA again for Labor Day, because apparently that's what everyone else does! This hotel had an awesome pool complete with lazy river, which we checked out as soon as we got checked in and changed. So relaxing. Then we had a fun dinner with Tom.

Sunday morning we slept in until 10:00! More pool time was immediately in order. There's nothing more relaxing to me than reading in the sun by the pool - what a treat! We had lunch with Tom before he hopped on a plane back to ATL. Then we went to a matinee and ordered room service for dinner. On Monday (Labor Day) on the way home we stopped at my FAVORITE place to go shopping....the San Marcos outlets!! They were having great sales and everyone knew about it - it was packed! Lots of traffic on the way home, and man, I was anxious to see my tooker bug. He was a very good boy for his grandparents. They had a wonderful time. Being away from him for a few days was nice...but I really missed him. Thank you so much to my mom and dad for babysitting!

For those of you who don't live in Texas, the weather forecast for this week doesn't show any temps above 90, and I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!! Finally, the heat wave has ended. I was starting to think it never would!
