What we've been up to...

I just realized that my last 3 posts have been about Molly. As special as she is, I need to share the love a little bit. So here's what we've been up to:

Trying out my new ergo carrier from Chad. I absolutely love it! I've been using it quite a bit. Molly will sleep in it really well.

Playing in our Texas snow (there wasn't much but he loved it!)

Going to the park:

Play dates with friends:

A Saturday trip to the zoo:

The stomach bug:

Graham got it at school (for the 3rd time) and was kind enough to share it with all of us. That was basically our entire MLK weekend. :)

Molly's Baby Dedication

A couple of weeks ago we had Molly's baby dedication at our church. The traffic was TERRIBLE due to the weather but we made it in time! We were very blessed that my mom and brother were able to drive over for the occasion.

Here are Molly and I with a couple of our friends who also had babies in 2012:

Tara and her baby Madelyn:

Erin and her baby Caleb:

My brother helped us keep an eye on Graham while we prayed with two of our church elders. They prayed a very sweet blessing over Molly.

We received a certificate, a bible, and a faith book from our church.

After church we went out to eat at Applebee's with my mom and brother. Graham and Molly did some bonding while we were there.

And for your viewing pleasure, here are some photos from Graham's baby blessing two years ago. He was 9 months old. Time flies! Our church is such a wonderful blessing in our lives. I'm so glad that they have special night for devoting new babies to the Lord.

Molly Two Months

Our precious girl is two months old!

Here are some things about Molly this month:

She weighs 14 lbs 4 oz and is 24 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile.

She got her two month shots today which was no fun but it puts my mind at ease.

She is wearing 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers.

She is nursing 6 times a day and 1-2 times at night.

She takes 5 naps a day in her room, 2 hours each (still in our room at night).

She sleeps in her carseat. That's right--all the time, even at night. It is the only place that she will sleep well so we are just going with it!

She sometimes goes right back to sleep after eating in the middle of the night, but sometimes Mommy (or more often Daddy) gets up with her for a little while.

She is becoming a better sleeper little by little.

She likes to be swaddled.

She doesn't really like her pacifier but Mommy is still trying to get her to. :)

She likes her activity mat and her swing when she is awake.

She likes tummy time.

She likes to be face to face with whoever is holding her, right up close.

She likes to watch her brother.

She can roll over from her tummy to her back.

She loves to coo and "talk." We LOVE hearing her sweet sounds.

Molly is a sweet sweet girl and such a blessing. We are so very thankful that the Lord blessed us with this little girl! Graham loves her and always makes sure that she is included in everything we do. He also keeps tabs on where she is.

I feel like I am finally starting to get my feet under me. For a month or so I was wondering if I could really handle two kids, a dog, and all the cooking, cleaning, and laundry! We have now gotten into a schedule and routine that works for everybody. Adjusting to having 2 was a bit harder than I had bargained for, but we are certainly getting there now.

Molly Rolls Over

For a couple of weeks now I've noticed that when I put Molly on her tummy time pillow she can roll off of it on to her back. But yesterday she was flat on her tummy and rolled to her back! I caught it on video this morning. We were pretty surprised that she is rolling over already at 7 weeks. Graham was 3, almost 4 months old when he started rolling over. I fear that she may start moving around a little quicker than he did! She is growing up way too fast. :(

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday Chad and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. We decided to make reservations at Del Frisco's restaurant in downtown Fort Worth, one of our favorite places. Taking Graham with us was out of the question. Anyone who has had a toddler knows that taking them out to eat, let alone to a fancy restaurant, is challenging. So we left him with a babysitter. But I didn't feel quite ready yet to leave Molly. She's never had a bottle. Anyways, we've taken her out to eat several times over the holidays and she usually sleeps the entire time in her carseat. So I was picturing us enjoying our meal at Del Frisco's while Molly slept, never even getting her out of her carseat.

That's not exactly what happened! I'll tell you - just when you think you can predict what your children will do - you can't! She started fussing as soon as we were seated and we ended up having to take turns holding her throughout our meal. To top it off, she had a diaper blowout that required a change of clothes. And when I got to the restroom, there was no changing table and I realized that I was out of wipes!

My, how ours lives have changed in the 8 years we've been married! But I really wouldn't have it any other way. :)
